Sink Packaging Print

Automatic sink packaging an palletising

The packaging of stainless steel sinks is a complex process, as the product is easily damaged and has very sharp edges. Our automatic system solved this challenge with the following procedure:

The individual cardboard packaging blanks are picked from the top of the magazine stack and transferred sideways to the packing station by use of a two axis pick and place unit with vacuum gripper. The stainless steel sinks are manually loaded upside-down onto the infeed station. A twin strand conveyor transfers the sink into the loading station automatically, and a pick and place unit then transfers the sink into the packing station, placing it onto the blank in the correct position.

In the packing area, the loaded sink will be automatically datumed to align with the cardboard packaging. The packing station incorporates adjustable fingers, which actuate to fold the edge of the card around the sink in the correct way.  A hot melt glue system secures the packaging at the corners. Finished packaged sinks are automatically placed into the outfeed conveyor.
