Industrial Automation has developed an Automatic Lidding Machine that ensures a secure fit for tubs and buckets. The LX2000 is ideal for food manufacturers and processors that need to fill catering sized tubs of foodstuffs. The LX2000 features a set of high speed rollers to clip the lid in place, as opposed to existing systems that employ a flat press. This minimises material stress and reduces the likelihood of an incorrect fit. It also features a fail-safe system which tests the integrity of the lid application and diverts any failures down a separate chute to ensure there are no messy and costly spillages, especially if vacuum lifting systems are used.

The LX2000 can seal a variety of sizes, shapes and materials. Because of its small footprint, it can be placed over existing lines.

The system can also be combined with the new Industrial Automation gantry palletising system to remove the need for manual handling. The Gantec 2000 can sequentially load two pallets and can also handle a variety of sizes and patterns. The automated pick and place can handle up to 80kg per cycle. The Windows based control panel is easy to use and user-configurable.

Both machines are already in use at a manufacturing company in Leek. The new system is helping the company meet its Health & Safety obligations by removing much of the manual handling requirements from that part of the production line.

In addition to the supply and installation of the system, Industrial Automation can provide the controller software for the system, offering operatives flexibility of operation and improving efficiency.
