Battery Plate Inspection & Testing Cell

After initial machining, each plate is tested for dimensions in all 3 planes, and viewed from top and bottom by both a visual light camera and an infrared camera for flaws.

Edge measuring lasers then measure all perimeter edges of the plate.

Two final tests for thickness at various points and for overall weight complete the process.

Passed components are printed with a bar code label.

The data for each plate is then fed from the cell to the factory data collection system for onward analysis using an ethernet connection.

The robot is the key unit integrating each area of the cell picking and placing components on demand.
